Welcome to the 25th edition of The Brighter Leek.
It looks like everyone enjoyed their time as part of the maintenance crew in our latest quest. Good job to all you newbies out there for making it back in one piece!
Over the last fortnight most of the team continued to work hard to get the Milestones update ready for a beta test early next year. At the same time Rod and Paul are working on creating more quests for you to enjoy, and James B, Lewis and James T worked on the Christmas 2025 event.
Woodcutter:
• We are adding teak trees, which are used to make teak planks in Carpenter and are available in milestone 0.
• We are adding mahogany trees, which are used to make mahogany planks in Carpenter and are unlocked by reaching milestone 1.
• We are adding cypress trees, which are used to make pufferfish boxes in Carpenter and are unlocked by reaching milestone 2.
• Ash trees are now unlocked by reaching milestone 1, and ash logs are used exclusively for crafting shields in Bonewright.
• New shortcuts are being added to Hopeforest, with each shortcut being blocked by a different kind of bramble. Each woodcutter milestone you reach unlocks one new bramble shortcut.
• Passive woodcutting now uses new species of trees, instead of using the same trees as active woodcutting. The new species are hornbeam, elder, acacia, linden and maple.
• The appearance of ash trees is being adjusted to make their leaves the correct shape.
• We are shifting and replaced various trees in Hopeforest to make space for all the new trees.
Carpenter:
• We are adding teak planks, which are used in Builder and are available in milestone 0.
• We are adding mahogany planks, which are used in Builder and are unlocked by reaching milestone 1.
• We are adding pufferfish boxes, which are used in Fisher and are unlocked by reaching milestone 2.
• Passive carpenter items are being adjusted to be made from the 5 new kinds of branches.
As you can see, in both these professions we are saving some activities for later milestones, so leveling up is more rewarding.

• A better structure for leveling up, based around reaching a milestone every 50 levels, with a new XP curve to match.
• Adjusts the level of repeated (i.e. reskinned) activities, such that there are no repeated activities within a milestone (and therefore there are no repeated activities within the first 50 levels of a profession).
• Milestone unlocks, such as new activities, bounties, world events and dungeons, which deliver meaningful rewards for reaching a milestone.
• New activities in many professions.
Bounties for all professions
• Bonus objectives, which add variety when leveling up.
• Rare bounties will sometimes appear, which give better rewards, but appear less frequently on the bounty board.
World events
• A repeating calendar of multiplayer events.
Dungeons for all professions
• Solo and multiplayer excursions into unexplored regions of Adothria.
• Remixes the profession in a whole new way, adding more options for leveling up.
