Welcome to the 28th edition of The Brighter Leek.
Last week saw the launch of our latest quest, The Imposter. We hope everyone enjoyed infiltrating the Administrators gang as much as we did, and that you didn't blow your cover!
The big news in this edition is that we plan to launch the Milestones beta on the week commencing 26th January 2026. All of the graphics, mapping and audio work is complete. There is a small amount of coding work left to be done, but we are on track to complete that in time.
In this edition we also welcome two new team members, Naomi and Nathan, both of whom have joined our content team.
If the beta goes to plan, the milestones update is scheduled to launch on the week commencing 9th February 2026.
James B (Legendary Leek) has been working on:
• Launching the Crenopolis 6 ⭐️ quest.
• Milestones - Add danger zone indicators to Deathstone mining.
• Milestones - Add potion belt key bind support.
• Milestones - Milestones QA and bug fixes.
• New starter training.
• Preparing this Brighter Leek.
• Reading and replying to support requests and customer emails.
Ian (Multipurpose Leek) has been working on:
• Milestones - Mapping Hopeforest.
• Milestones - Mapping Mine of Mantuban (Horseshoe Hollow).
• Milestones - Expanding various rooms so the 2D map labels do not overlap adjacent rooms.
• Milestones - Many small fixes to the 2D map.
• Mapping for the Mine of Mantuban 7 ⭐️ quest.
Steve (Lanky Leek) has been working on:
• Coding for the Filtration Station minigame.
Rod (Charred Leek) has been working on:
• Coding for the Crenopolis 6 ⭐️ quest.
• Design for the Shipwreck world event.
• Coding for the Shipwreck world event.
Naomi (Artificial Leek) has been working on:
• Design for the Crenopolis 4 ⭐️ quest.
• Coding for the Crenopolis 4 ⭐️ quest.
Note: This is a completely new quest. The Crenopolis 4 ⭐️ quest that was previously worked on by Haaris will be revisited at a later time with a new ⭐️ rating.
Nathan (Kafkaesque Leek) has been working on:
• Design for the Hopeforest 4 ⭐️ quest.
Greg (Laid Back Leek) has been working on:
• Milestones - Leatherworker inventory icons, Merchant inventory icons, Delver inventory icons (potion reagents).
• Milestones - Action icons.
• Graphics for this Brighter Leek.
• Splash art for the Milestones update.
Lewis (Sloth Leek) has been working on:
• Milestones - Combat foe parts (goblin miners).
James T (Jimmy Leek) has been working on:
• Graphics for the Filtration Station minigame.
Alex (Octo Leek) has been working on:
• Milestones - Combat foe skins (sewer fiend, zombie, shade).
• Graphics for Stonemason bounties.
• Graphics for the Mine of Mantuban 7 ⭐️ quest.
Botanist
• A new profession that replaced Gatherer.
Milestones
• A better structure for leveling up, based around reaching a milestone every 50 levels, with a new XP curve to match.
• Adjusts the level of repeated (i.e. reskinned) activities, such that there are no repeated activities within a milestone (and therefore there are no repeated activities within the first 50 levels of a profession).
• Milestone unlocks, such as new activities, bounties, world events and dungeons, which deliver meaningful rewards for reaching a milestone.
• New activities in many professions.
Bounties for all professions
• Bonus objectives, which add variety when leveling up.
• Rare bounties will sometimes appear, which give better rewards, but appear less frequently on the bounty board.
World events
• A repeating calendar of multiplayer events.
Dungeons for all professions
• Solo and multiplayer excursions into unexplored regions of Adothria.
• Remixes the profession in a whole new way, adding more options for leveling up.
Minigames
• Unique activities that give you a new way to level up the profession.
